While not unusual to see Herring, the sheer amount of bait was mind boggling and it stayed in place for months. The results were offshore quality Chinook fishing in flat calm waters. Acres of bait would be pushed up against the kelp beds with Chinook slashing the surface all day. @gibbsfishing Big Eye Spoons in The Reelman and Tofino Sunrise were the go to patterns .

2025 summer highlights: ~Light tackle heavy fish~ 2025 summer highlights: ~Light tackle heavy fish~ This summer we brought out the little guns whenever we had the chance. Lightweight spinning setups paired with the @gibbsfishing 1.5 oz Macfish and Half Jig sold at @harbourchandler accounted for some of our biggest salmon of the season and a number of Lingcod and Halibut. It’s a fun way to switch things up from the regular troll and can be extremely productive under the right conditions.
